In 1995, a major robbery took place in Guangdong where five armed individuals stole $15 million and killed three bank escorts. This event caused shock throughout the country, prompting the Police to quickly form a task force led by Wang Shouyue (portrayed by Lam Ka Tung) and He Lan (portrayed by Zhang Songwen). Despite finding the whereabouts of the robbers, they were unable to locate the true mastermind behind the crime – Chen Xinwen (played by Da Peng), the owner of a construction company, and his cousin Chen Xinnian (played by Sun Yang). The two suspects fled and have not been found since. Twenty-one years have passed and the case has faded from public attention, with Wang Shouyue retiring.
