Volume 2 of the Sonny Chiba Collection is now available on Blu-ray from Shout! Factory.

On November 24, 2023, the Blu-ray set for The Sonny Chiba Collection Volume Two will be released by Shout! Factory. This set will feature the following films: The Defensive Power of Aikido (1973), 13 Steps of Maki (1975), Karate Warriors (1976), The Okinawa Yakuza War (1976), Karate For Life (1977), Golgo 13: Assignment Kowloon (1977), and The Okinawa War of Ten Years (1978).

Jiro Chiba takes on the part of Morihei Ueshiba, who was born in Wakayama to a farming family. He was destined for excellence in martial arts as he studied under various masters, including his brother Sonny Chiba, and honed his skill in Aikido.

13 STEPS OF MAKI

The War of the Okinawa Yakuza

When Okinawa is returned to mainland Japan, it causes conflict between brothers and friends. The local yakuza is also not pleased with being threatened by mainland gangs. This leads to chaos and the largest yakuza battle in Okinawa’s history.
