“Capelight Pictures presents the 4K UHD SteelBook edition of Bloodsport.”

On August 21, 2023, Capelight Pictures/Altitude Films is releasing the 4K UHD Blu-ray (UK) for Bloodsport, a 1988 cult martial arts film directed by Newt Arnold (Blood Thirst) and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme (Black Water).

During his younger years, Frank Dux (played by Jean-Claude Van Damme) received instruction in ninjitsu from Senzo Tanaka, a master of Japanese martial arts. Upon learning of Tanaka’s impending death, Dux makes a journey to Hong Kong as a tribute and takes part in the Kumite, a confidential event where fighters from various countries risk their lives. Dux’s sole objective is to emerge victorious from the competition.

Bloodsport also stars Donald Gibb (Revenge of the Nerds), Leah Ayres (Walker, Texas Ranger), Norman Burton (Diamonds Are Forever), Forest

Whitaker starred in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Bolo Yeung appeared in Enter the Dragon, Philip Chan had a role in Hard Boiled, and Michel Qissi was featured in Kickboxer.

The upcoming launch will feature three distinct variations (V1 | V2), including a special edition SteelBook option.
